WELCOME TO FUND MANAGER
***********************************************************
An overview, as well as all the documentation for Fund
Manager is available via on-line help from inside the
application.
To get a quick feel for the capabilities of Fund Manager,
simply double click on any of the sample icons created
by the installation program.
If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions they
are welcomed by the author. See below for information on
how to contact the author.

FUND MANAGER HOME PAGE
***********************************************************
Fund Manager has a home page on the World Wide Web:
http://members.aol.com/Beiley/fundman.html
Here, you can always find the latest versions, tips for using
Fund Manager, what's coming up in the future, and pointers
to other finance related sites.

UPGRADE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
***********************************************************
Select the RUN command from the FILE menu of the Program
Manager. Run the program "install.exe".
Example: a:\install.exe
EASY UPGRADE INSTALLATION:
If you already have a previous version of Fund Manager
on your computer you can install this newer version
directly over your old version. During installation
specify the directory where your current version is
located (eg. c:\finance). You can continue to use your
existing data files. Your old version of Fund Manager
will be overwritten. New samples will be installed in
the samples sub-directory.
ADVANCED UPGRADE INSTALLATION:
If you want to try this new version before deciding to
upgrade, install this version to a different directory
(eg. c:\finance2). Version 8.0 uses a new data file
format. Once you save your data files with version 8.0
or later older versions will not be able to directly read
the new file format. If you only want to experiment with
version 8.6 you should operate on a copy of your data files.
(Remember that portfolios contain the full path of the
investments they contain, so after making a copy of your
data files, you should not use your portfolios, as they
will be pointing to your original data files.)

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
***********************************************************
Fund Manager (copyright 1993-6 by Mark Beiley) is a shareware
application. If, after a reasonable period, you decide
that you find Fund Manager useful and plan to continue to
use it, please register with the author.
You may use the file "register.txt" or the registration
form included in the online help to register. A printable
manual may be ordered on the registration form. The
manual is identical to the on-line help, but you may order
the manual in either a Microsoft Word or plain ascii text
file format. This will allow you to print out the entire
manual for easier reading. The manual may either be
mailed on diskette through the mail, or sent elec-
tronically. The cost to receive the manual on diskette is
$5.00. The cost to receive the manual electronically is
$2.00, but is only available if you have provided either a
CompuServe or America Online user ID on your registration
form. If you choose to order the manual please specify
which data format you prefer: Microsoft Word 2.0 for
Windows or plain text.
Historical prices may also be ordered from the author.
The historical prices order form is included in the online
help. Choose "Order Historical Prices..." from the "Help"
menu inside Fund Manager to access the historical prices
and order form.
